Prior to his current executive directorship, Tom Trainor held global revenue responsibilities with Trintech Technologies as executive vice president, and with Kindle Banking Systems as international sales director. Before that he was sales director with consultancy firm Cambridge Technology Partners in New York.
Tom is a languages honours graduate with postgraduate qualifications in international marketing. He holds an International Executive MBA from Smurfit Business School at UCD, where he also completed the Diploma in Corporate Governance in 2008. Tom was awarded the Dip.IoD Diploma in Company Direction by the Institute of Directors in London, and he has completed an executive programme at Harvard Business School. Tom is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, where he has also been awarded Chartered Marketer status.
He has served as a member of the board of the European Marketing Confederation
The Marketing Institute of Ireland CLG’s Board of Directors together carry fiduciary and governance responsibilities, and a duty to protect the interests of the Institute.
DAVID FIELD, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
David Field is Commercial Trading Director with Eason. With two decades experience in the marketing profession, David has established his career with top brand names. He was previously marketing director with luxury retailer Brown Thomas. Before that he was Head of Marketing and Retail Development at Eason, where he led a repositioning strategy which transformed and modernised the brand. Prior to that, David was director of retail operations and marketing at Fresh, the good food market. He has also worked with Glanbia as Product Group Manager, and spent a significant period with Superquinn in a number of positions across project management, category management and business development. David holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies from Smurfit Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University College Dublin.
LIAM MCDONNELL, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Liam is the CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Ireland, a Media and Advertising services group which is a fully owned subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Dentsu Inc. The Irish company has 226 full time employees and an annual revenue of over €21million. The company's brands include Amnet, Carat Ireland, iProspect, ISOBAR, StoryLab and Vizeum. Its services include e-commerce, strategic planning, content creation, data management, programmatic advertising and media strategy. Liam has previously been a council member of the Marketing Society of Ireland, a board member and latterly President of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI). He has also held board positions with Irish International BBDO and Saatchi & Saatchi. Having started his career as a media planner, Liam has been in general management for almost two decades and has worked with many many leading Irish and International brands.
PAULA MURPHY, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (Chair*)
Paula Murphy is a seasoned marketing professional who has been to the fore of major brand developments through her career. Her current responsibilities are in brand operations at Vodafone Ireland, the leading mobile communications operator with 2.4 million customers. Paula was previously Group Marketing Director at Independent Newspapers where she managed iconic brands such as the Irish Independent, Evening Herald and Sunday Independent. Prior to that, Paula was Marketing and Commercial Manager with Superquinn, and previously, as Marketing Manager with Kerry Foods she managed the Denny brand. Paula was awarded Fellowship of the Marketing Institute of Ireland in 2008. She is a graduate of the College of Marketing and Design, and her BSc in Management was awarded by Trinity College Dublin. (* Paula was elected chairperson of the board for a 3-year term on 28 January 2015)
GERALDINE O’NEILL, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Geraldine O’Neill is a independent marketing communications specialist with over 20 years experience at senior management level, working with an eclectic mix of global and domestic brands. She has a professional track record in building, directing and delivering award-winning marcomms and public relations programmes that have resulted in strong commercial success. In 10 years with Edelman, the world’s largest independent PR firm, she was deputy managing director of Edelman Dublin and she worked at global level as Head of the European consumer business, including responsibility for the relationship with Shell, which entailed overseeing the work of Edelman offices across 16 markets. Geraldine was awarded Fellowship of the Marketing Institute of Ireland in 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters degree in Communications from NUI Galway.
GERARD O’NEILL, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
An economist by training, Gerard O’Neill is chairman of the market research firm Amárach Research, where he also leads the firm's strategic consulting practice, working with senior management teams to create resilient strategies for the future. He was previously business planning manager at An Post. Gerard is a a graduate of the London School of Economics, and a fellow of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. He was appointed a member of the National Statistics Board in 2014, which is responsible to government for developing its statistical strategy. He has served as a director of the Irish Internet Association and was previously chairman of the Marketing Society. Gerard was also a co-founder of Hireland.ie, the job creation initiative. He writes the popular blog Turbulence Ahead, and his book, 2016: A New Proclamation for A New Generation, is published by Mercier Press.

CERA WARD, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Cera Ward is the Country Manager for Google Ireland, Large Customer Sales, helping large Irish businesses maximise their use of Google advertising platforms and educating the Irish market on Google’s advertising suite. Cera joined Google from 9 years at the national radio station Newstalk, where she led and built their national sales teams. Cera is a Marketing Institute of Ireland graduate, prior to marketing she studied journalism.
ROSITA WOLFE, NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Rosita Wolfe is Head of Marketing at the National Concert Hall, and she has positioned Ireland’s most popular venue as an international leader, evidenced by awards in marketing, PR, digital and Customer Experience (CX). Rosita twice led the NCH to wins at the All Ireland Marketing Awards. She previously worked with Eircom as a market analyst in the mergers and acquisitions team, moving on to work in international marketing for Eircom’s operations. She has published a number of papers in the fields of marketing, communications and sponsorship, and has presented at a range of international conferences. A first class honours marketing graduate of DIT, Rosita also holds a Masters in Commerce from University College Dublin, and she holds the Graduateship of The Marketing Institute of Ireland, where she was awarded Marketing Graduate of the Year. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the charity DEBRA Ireland.
